  benches in the garden Square of Ile de France. bit of backstory ... the site was originally the dumping ground for materials used in the 14th century construction of Notre Dame... in 1687 it was transformed into a garden reserved for men only. 1954 -1964 a memorial like a crypt was constructed underneath the square, which is called the Memorial des Martyrs de la Deportation. the square is open to all ... unfortunately they do not allow cellphone or camera use in the memorial area.
