Savannah  Cotton  Exchange

the  original  

winged  Lion  Fountain  

was  installed  in  1889

and  stood  guardian  over 

  the  Exchange  until  Sept.  2008 

 when  it  was  destroyed  by 

a  car  crashing  into  the  fountain.

current   Lion  was  restored in  2009
