madison memories ...

 the old jail
circa  1889
487 S.W.  Pinckney St.
Madison,  Florida
...
during my childhood  (50's and 60's )
old jail was transformed into
Madison's Public Library.
( currently the building is used for Salvation Army )
...
parking my bike  to the
right of the jail next to a fig tree
 my first experience with hives
( who knew I was allergic to figs.. )
...
the librarian saw me almost every day
and in time allowed me to read books
in the upper levels.
...
Thanks to my mom and sisters I began reading
pre-first grade and haven't stopped.
learning to read so early had such an impact on my life.
